Overview
Kinetech is a software engineering team management system I developed at Click Here Digital. It was designed to provide the executive leadership team with a centralized, real-time view of project status, resource allocation, and budget forecasts. By integrating with key development and operational platforms, Kinetech automates data aggregation and reporting, replacing manual processes and providing actionable insights into the engineering department's performance and financial health.
My Role & Contributions
As the sole architect and engineer, I was responsible for the entire lifecycle of the Kinetech platform. I designed, developed, and deployed the system from the ground up to meet the specific reporting and management needs of the executive team. My key contributions include:
- System Architecture: I designed a modern, full-stack application architecture using Go for the backend API and React with TypeScript for the frontend, ensuring a robust, scalable, and maintainable system.
- Third-Party Integrations: I engineered integrations with multiple critical platforms, including Google, GitHub, Jira, Wakatime, Amazon Web Services, and Vanta, to create a unified data ecosystem.
- Feature Development: I built all core functionalities, from compliance automation and incident tracking to sophisticated budget forecasting and resource allocation reporting.
- AI Integration: Leveraged the OpenAI API, LangChain, and n8n to build an AI-powered workflow for automating security compliance notifications.
- API Security: I implemented a secure API with platform-generated access tokens, including features for setting expiration dates and regenerating tokens to ensure controlled access.
- Deployment: I managed the deployment of the application on AWS using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS), ensuring a reliable and secure production environment.
The Challenge
The executive leadership team at Click Here Digital required clear, consistent, and up-to-date information on the engineering department's activities. Previously, this data was fragmented across various platforms like Jira, GitHub, and time-tracking software. Compiling reports on project progress, team productivity, budget adherence, and security compliance was a manual, time-consuming process that was prone to inaccuracies and delays. This made strategic planning, resource management, and financial forecasting difficult.
The Solution
Kinetech was built to be the single source of truth for all engineering management data. The system automates the collection and synthesis of data from integrated platforms into a suite of intuitive dashboards and exportable reports. This provides leadership with immediate, transparent insights into all aspects of the software development lifecycle, from individual developer activity to high-level budget allocation and project timelines.

- Unified Reporting Dashboard: A centralized interface providing insights into project status, resource allocation, and budget tracking.
- Access Review Audits: Automates and streamlines user access reviews for company systems by leveraging integrations with platforms like Google Workspace.
- Compliance Automation: Automates firewall audits with AWS and device security compliance checks with Vanta.
- AI-Powered Notifications: Uses the OpenAI API (via LangChain and n8n) to generate custom compliance emails, guiding users through necessary security configurations based on Vanta's device status reports.
- Incident & Maintenance Tracking: Features a system for logging incident reports and scheduled maintenance, which populates a custom, public-facing status page.
- Financial Management: Offers detailed budget tracking, forecasting, and capital expense reporting by linking time-tracked data from Wakatime to specific Jira issues.
- Resource Allocation: Provides clear reports on which engineer is working on which tasks, with the ability to export reports to PDF for distribution.
- Time Off Management: Includes a simple system for engineering contractors to request and track time off.
- Secure API Access: Allows for programmatic access to the platform's data via secure, manageable API tokens.
